Jordan High School Athletic Department
The philosophy of Jordan High School Athletics embraces the concepts of the "student-athlete' being a 'student" first, as well as, the principles of gender equity and requirements of Title IX. The physical and mental welfare of the student-athlete is of the highest importance. Fair play and sportsmanship are emphasized along with strict compliance with the rules and regulations of the NCHSAA.
The Athletic Department will provide students with the opportunity to participate in an interscholastic athletic program. During competition for a varsity athletic team for Jordan High School, the student will gain leadership responsibilities, social, cultural, and physical growth as an individual. With this extracurricular experience, the student-athlete will have the possibility to enjoy the total college experience. With the student- athlete having a total high school experience this will help them in the future. Jordan High School Athletic Program is an integral part of the school’s total educational mission. Twenty six sports (twelve men/fourteen women) and 38 teams (JV/Varsity) offer diverse opportunities accommodating the needs and varying interests of students participating.
